Week of March 4-8th


Science-We just finished up our Science Matter Unit!  The students are now learning Heredity in Mrs. Andrew's class.

Writing-We will finish our Persuasion Essay's Monday and have the Direct Writing Assessment on Tuesday.  We will also be writing Limerick Poetry.

Math-We will add and subtract mixed numbers.

Spelling-Test on Tuesday

Please encourage your child to continue reading 30 minutes every night and get his/her homework finished. Check their homework log after they have finished and sign.

WEEK OF VALENTINES and PARENT TEACHERS CONFERENCE

Congratulations to those students who had all their assignments in and attended Honor Day last week!

This week:
Please sign up for conferences if you haven't.

Wednesday-   Parent/Teacher Conferences-  2:40-8:00
Thursday- 1/2 Day-HaPpY VALENTINES DAY!! We will be doing Valentine activities with Math and Language arts.  We will also have a Valentines Tea.  After, students will pass out  Valentines to the class. Students may bring a decorated Valentine box from home.   
Conferences begin at 2:40. I'll see you there.


Math-We will continue learning about fractions.
Writing-Finish persuasion rough drafts and finish final drafts.
Science-Matter experiments are due if you did not present last week.
Social Studies-Lewis and Clark
Word Work-Test on Thursday

       Please practice words 3 times each night.
       Dibels testing 

Friday-1/2 day of school
    Maturation Program
      You should get something sent to you in the mail.  Here is the information I received on Friday.  
           8:30-9:30-Parent meeting
           9:30-10:30  Boys meet
           9:30-11:30  Girls meet

Remember... Friday (January 11th @ 1:00)  will be N.O.V.A. Graduation.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to come.  You will receive an invitation with the correct time from Detective Gleisberg.

Tuesday:  Nova

Thursday:  Honor Day if you have 0 missing assignments.
Friday:  1/2 Day of school
      Caroling
      Christmas poetry presentations to the fifth grade classes.
      Class Christmas Activities

The students chose to pick a classmate and be their secret Santa.  They decided to choose a a$2.00 gift to give.  We will be doing this on Friday.  If there is any problem getting a gift, I will have extra gifts they can use.

December 3-7

This week:

Monday:  We will finish our N.O.V.A Essays.

Tuesday:  We will be presenting our N.O.V.A Essays during N.O.V.A.  Ask your child to share his/her essay with you!  

  • Math Division Test

Wednesday or Thursday:  Social Studies reports are due!  Please make sure you get these finished on time.  Mrs. Stewart will not accept any late reports.

Please remember to read 30 minutes every night and practice Reflex Math if you have not passed off your math facts.

Only 2 days of school this week!

I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving!!
I am Thankful for the wonderful students I have this year!! I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving Holiday!!

Monday & Tuesday

  •  Morning- Book Lady will come to teach us how to make books.
    • Write Nova Reports 
  •  Afternoon-Science & Social Studies
    • Math-We will start double digit division
    • Reading-Readers Theaters (Thanksgiving)


Please continue reading 30 minutes every night!!  Turn in your November reading pages!
Remember to practice REFLEX MATH and KAKOOMA!!

  • Science-Magnet Test and begin Electricity Unit
  • Writing- We will begin Nova Essays
  • Word Work-Adjectives-Practice writing 3 times each night.  (Test on Friday)
  • Character Focus-Kindness
Thursday-Field Trip-Logan High Musical      
Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat 
We will leave school at 9:00 A.M. and return at 11:00 A.M.

November 5-9th

Last week the students tested on multiplication.  I will send home the test scores this week.  Please remember to read 30 minutes every night to meet your reading goal of 300 pages per month.

Homework:  Please remember to do your homework and finish it every night.  This Wednesday we will have a 5th grade Honor Day!

Congratulations to:  Braden, AJ, Trevor,  Andy, and Tyra on meeting their reading goal of 600 pages for September and October.

This Week:

  • Math-We will begin Division
